Details UNLABELLED:The absence of PtsN, the terminal phosphoacceptor of the phosphotransferase system comprising PtsP-PtsO-PtsN, in Escherichia coli confers a potassium-sensitive (K(s)) phenotype as the external K(+) concentration ([K(+)]e) is increased above 5 mM.
