概要	Approaches to flood risk governance are investigated by reviewing recent studies and initiatives in selected regions and countries. It is argued that flood risk governance evolves to suit local contexts, and increasingly has been based on wider risk and water governance. Recent studies have examined the challenges of efficiency, trust and engagement, which build public confidence, ensure stakeholder inclusiveness, and maximize risk management benefits. Responding to interests in the transboundary basins is a challenge for research with regard to the effectiveness in ensuring policy coherence of various sectors, considering the physical scale of governance.
