概要 | Using the discrete element method, this study investigates splash processes caused by a grain impacting a randomly packed bed. The simulation results align well with previous experimental data on grain movement. The ejection angle and speed of individual grains vary depending on when they are ejected after impact. Notably, grains ejected early differ significantly from those ejected later: the vertical ejection-speed distribution changes over time from a power-law to a lognormal form. This shift may influence the subsequent trajectories of the ejected grains. |
