概要	This research project examines the example of the activities of NGO X, a organization which provides spaces where Turkish and Syrian people can connect, form relationships and learn to coexist with one another, with the aims of identifying which elements promote social cohesion and which stand in its way. The author implemented the fieldwork clarifying the situation of, and issues confronting, Syrian refugees in Turkey from September 2016, to February 2019. The surveys revealed the seriousness of the divisions and clashes taking place. Under such a situation, the government of Turkey was seeking to promote social cohesion, and various assistance organizations had responded by commencing activities for nurturing coexistence. This paper introduces NGO X’s activities with the purpose of identifying factors that promote or hinder social cohesion through the analysis of specific examples.
