Details | Establishing a novel theoretical framework, this book analyzes how culture influences international relations. Based on a Cultural Constructivist perpsective, it empirically examines China's relations with Japan, Vietnam, the former Soviet Union and the United States. It argues that although China's cultural behavior pattern can be observed in its relations with Japan, Vietnam and the former Soviet, it was not so in the country's ties with the United States due to material constraints and cultural distance. |
