Details An increasing number of schools are being rebuilt owing to problems such as decrepitude and weak seismic capacity. During the reconstruction process, temporary school buildings are often erected using a prefabricated structure. Such temporary school buildings lack acoustical performance and are exposed to construction noise. This
study investigates the actual condition of these buildings, using the case of a temporary school building of an elementary school in Tokyo,
and examines the possibility of improvement and countermeasures that
could be taken in the operational scene.
