Details | It is believed that a microfinance program should be sufficient in developing countries. However, should it be sufficient in developed countries? This research is to examine the risk of mission drift of microfinance programs in developed countries with a case study of Community Development Financial Institutions in the UK.
Under the reduction of CDFI support by UK government, CDFIs increased self-sufficiency. This study found that UK CDFIs experienced significant changes in terms of their target clients and business models. The reduction of governments support can cause the risk of mission drift. |
