Details | This study presents five new scales that can measure"appraisals" of fear and anxiety induced by others. Towards this end, I designed and then administrated a questionnaire comprised of 47 people-induced fear and anxiety items and 3 corresponding pleasure-feeling ones to 283 subjects. Factor analysis was subsequently conducted and five factors were obtained,i.e., (1)fear from intervention by others, (2)fear from a lack of understanding others, (3)fear from the wild behavior of others, (4)fear of hatred or rejection by others, (5)fear from the revelation of self inferiority by others. Next, I constructed five corresponding people-induced fear and anxiety scales using the resultant factor loading scores. Correlations between these scales and pleasure-feeling ones were discussed. |
