| Details | This study compared the information provided on university counseling center websites in four cities in East Asian countries to elucidate the differences of information provided by them and to obtain indications for the development of the university counseling center websites in Japan. The investigation also aimed to discuss the associations between differences found and the historical circumstances relating to the development of university counseling in each country. Results indicated that the Tokyo-based websites generally offered considerably less information than the other websites. Moreover, the trends of the information offered by the centers across the four cities were remarkably different. The results suggest that the historical circumstances relating to the development of university counseling in each country have probably influenced the information presented on the websites of university counseling centers in the abovementioned cities. |
