| Details | Reinhart Koselleck specifies that the phenomenon “acceleration” is a basic experience of the modern people, of the 19th century. That was warned by J. W. Goethe in 1825 through the well-known neologism “veloziferish”. In this paper I analyze, following them, the traces of the «veloziferish» in relation to the means of travel in the Pardo Bazán’s narrative. This analysis sheds light on the change of her sensitivity towards the end of life.
