Details | This paper presents a research perspective revealing that Japanese supply chain actually constitutes 'supply network', and shifts from tightly coupled system of domestic supply chain to loosely coupled system of international supply network. Then it is described that the past supply network constituted by Japanese 'KEIRETSU' firms, such as JIT system, corresponds to the above-mentioned loosely coupled system of international supply network, based on this research perspective.
Furthermore, this paper indicates a problem as 'dilemma of flexibility' between supplier selection and delivery or design changes in Japanese supply network. |
