Details Reportedly, various biases intervene in situations in which individuals assess each other, such as personnel evaluations at companies and grade evaluations at universities. Yamashita proposed an analysis model of rating tendency for quantitatively comprehending the above-mentioned various rating tendencies. However, this model using the discontinuous scaling method presents the problem of making a detailed differentiation of the evaluatee performance.
Therefore, this study proposes a new analysis model (of the rating tendency for the continuous scaling method) to describe various rating tendencies. Subsequently, we analyze whether each rater belongs to the categories of rating tendency (for example, lenient tendency, central tendency, strict tendency, and bimodality tendency) by using the proposed model, and examine the validity thereof.
