Details Three general challenges face the establishment of information and communication technology (ICT) professionalism in Japan: the working environment of ICT professionals, the business practices in the Japanese ICT industry and the Japanese education system. In this study, we examine these challenges descriptively and propose effective countermeasures to establish a globally acceptable level of ICT professionalism in Japan.
