概要 | Understanding the dynamics of cortical communication within a single brain and/or between multiple brains is one of the most challenging topics in the field of systems neuroscience. Previous studies of brain electrical activity have shown region- and frequency band- specific changes in oscillatory activity, suggesting the existence of multiple cortical networks governed by the oscillatory activities of different frequency bands. Here we demonstrate an application of multivariate Granger causality (MVGC) analysis to electroencephalography (EEG) data during a two-person, eye-contact experiment to explore the directional dynamics of the EEG frequency components which are involved in real human face-to-face communication as compared to gaze at a face picture. |
