Details | We analyse a linear stability numerically for flows between two parallel vertical plates with a constant vertical temperature gradient in a region where the Reynolds number is high by extending the linear analysis of Chen & Chung for low Reynolds number regions. The connection between the flow and the pure Poiseuille flow is clarified. We also carried out a nonlinear analysis for this flow. It is found that the bifurcation of the nonlinear solution is supercritical or subcritical depending on the sign of the temperature gradient. |
