Details Rabies is an outbreak and violent in most countries and regions around the world, especially in Asia. It is estimated more than 55,000 people are infected and dead for rabies every year around the globe. It has occurred almost annually in a sudden and localized manner in Thailand (WHO 2017a, Thailand Ministry of Public Health 2016). Rabies is a zoonosis commonly infected by being bitten by a dog having rabies virus. 30% to 50% of its victims are children under 15 years old because of their lack of knowledge for stray dogs and rabies mainly (Arai 1998). Methods for the prevention of human rabies are established in studies in medicine and veterinary medicine. Lately, the importance of rabies education is getting to attention in Asia (Kamoltham 2003, Kasempimolporn 2008). Under “the One Health” policy, the implementation study for rabies prevention and control is highly demanded (WHO, 2017b).
