Details | As Bhutan is situated in steep mountains with unpredictable river flows, any irrigation development here in Bhutan requires well-thought application of water intake techniques in mountain streams.
From this perspective, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests will host a seminar on irrigation development by inviting Dr. Michihiko Kojima, Associate Professor of Meiji University of Japan, who is a leading expert of Mountain Stream Water Intake Techniques. The seminar aims to introduce basic irrigation development concept as well as cases of mountain stream water intakes that could be highly relevant and useful to development of irrigation systems in Bhutan. |
